Technology Blog #1: "Developing a Connected Learning Model" and How it Connects to my Career Choice
This week in "Exploring your Digital Portfolio" we were assigned to read Chapter 2 of Connected Educator. This chapter mainly focuses on the different models for sharing information in a workplace setting, specifically for teachers and educators. Even though it was centered around teachers, the information being told still rings true for all careers; you must work together as a team. It is important to work together so that you are more likely to succeed and better expand your knowledge as a professional in whichever field you are in. The three main models provided in this chapter were: Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Personal Learning Networks (PLN), and Communities of Practice (CoP). The Communties of Practice sounded the most helpful for most jobs because it was described as being a constant sharing of information between individuals who all care about the same goal or passion.
